A traditional red rice variety known for its high fiber, iron and antioxidant content.
This rice strengthens muscles and nerves, increases energy, and helps manage diabetes. Rich in iron and fiber, which helps in increasing hemoglobin, improving digestion, and curing mouth ulcers. It is also known to strengthen muscles. It is also very low in glycemic index, great for diabetic management.
Best used for making healthy idlis, dosas, upma, and porridge (kanji). For cooking as rice, requires a long soaking time of 6–8 hours or overnight. If pressure cooked, 1 cup of soaked rice requires 3 cups of water for 4-5 whistles, followed by 5 minutes on low heat.
Organically grown & cultivated from partner farms in Tamil Nadu. The rice is NPOP certified organic and contains no chemical residues.
